The 8961 series Scotch® high-strength Filament Reinforced Tape for flow-lines, risers and umbilical. It has polypropylene film backing and glass yarn reinforcement with synthetic rubber resin adhesive. It helps to maintain the structural integrity of flow-lines even under the most extreme environmental conditions to enhance the performance. It is tough, dependable, proven technology for containing flexible pipe armouring. These are available in a variety of backing and reinforcement types for dynamic or static sub-sea applications under tension. In anti-wear or intermediate sheathing layers, abrasion resistance is critical to minimize wear. Polyester-backed filament tapes, with or without reinforcement, provide the strength and stretch needed to maintain service life.
