MAX14786EAUD+T is a full-duplex, ±35kV ESD-protected, RS-485 transceiver for high-speed communication. It is a full-duplex RS-485 transceiver designed for robust communication in harsh industrial environments. This device features ±35kV ESD protection on the RS-485 pins and operate from a 3V to 5.5V supply with a 4mA no-load supply current (max). This device is optimized for communication over very long cables or short unterminated cables. It is used in applications such as motion controllers, encoder interfaces, HVAC control systems, utility meters.

- Wide supply voltage range from 3.0V to 5.5V
- Short-circuit protected outputs, true fail-safe receiver, thermal shutdown
- Shutdown supply current is 5μA typical at (DE = low, RE = high, TA = +25°C)
- Peak driver short-circuit output current is +250mA max at (0V ≤ VOUT ≤ +12V, output low)
- Differential input capacitance (receiver) is 12pF typ at (VCC = 3.0V to 5.5V)
- Driver propagation delay is 1000ns maximum at (RL = 54 ohm, CL = 50pF)
- Receiver propagation delay is 200ns maximum at (CL = 15pF)
- Differential driver output capacitance is 12pF typical at (DE = RE = high, f = 4MHz)
- Operating temperature range from -40°C to +125°C, 14-lead TSSOP package
