MAX22501EATA+T is a half-duplex ESD-protected RS-485/RS-422 transceiver. It is optimized for high-speed (upto 100Mbps) communication over long cables. This transceiver features integrated hot-swap protection and a fail-safe receiver, ensuring a logic-high on the receiver output when input signals are shorted or open for longer than 10μs (typ). It operates without preemphasis and is powered from a 3V to 5.5V supply. It is used in applications such as motion control, encoder interfaces, field bus networks, industrial control systems, backplane busses.
- High receiver sensitivity, wide receiver bandwidth, symmetrical receiver thresholds
- ±15kV ESD protection (human body model), ±7kV IEC 61000-4-2 air-gap ESD protection
- ±6kV IEC 61000-4-2 contact discharge ESD protection, driver outputs are short-circuit protected
- Supply voltage range from 3V to 5.5V, supply current is 4mA typical
- Driver propagation delay is 7ns typical at (RL = 54 ohm, CL = 50pF)
- Differential driver output skew is 1.2ns typical at (tDPLH – tDPHL, RL = 54 ohm, CL= 50pF)
- Data rate is 100Mbps maximum, shutdown supply current is 5µA maximum
- Receiver propagation delay is 17ns typical at (CL = 15pF)
- Receiver output skew is 2.5ns maximum at (tRPHL - tRPLH, CL= 15pF)
- Operating temperature range from -40°C to +125°C, TDFN8-EP package
