AD5780 is a system ready, 18bit, unbuffered voltage output digital-to-analogue converter (DAC). The part uses a versatile 3-wire serial interface that operates at clock rates of up to 35MHz and is compatible with standard serial peripheral interface (SPI), QSPI™, MICROWIRE™, and DSP interface standards. The part incorporates a power-on reset circuit that ensures that the DAC output powers up to 0V in a known output impedance state and remains in this state until a valid write to the device takes place. The part provides an output clamp feature that places the output in a defined load state. Typical applications are medical instrumentation, test and measurement, industrial control, scientific and aerospace instrumentation, data acquisition systems, digital gain and offset adjustment, power supply control.

- Output noise spectral density is 8nV/√Hz typical (at 1KHz, DAC code=midscale)
- Gain error temperature coefficient is ±0.018ppm/°C typ (VREFP=+10V, VREFN=−10V)
- Output voltage settling time is 2.5µs typical (10V step to 0.02%)
- Midscale glitch impulse is 14nV-sec typ (VREFP=+10V, VREFN=−10V)
- Wide power supply range of up to ±16.5V
- Digital feedthrough is 0.27nV-sec typ (VDD=12.5V to 16.5V, VSS=−16.5V to −12.5V)
- 24-lead frame chip scale package [LFCSP]
- Temperature rating range from -40°C to +125°C
