MCP3204-BI/SL is a 4-channel, successive approximation 12bit serial A/D converter with SPI serial interface and on-board sample and hold circuitry. It is programmable to provide two pseudo-differential input pairs or four single-ended inputs. Communication with the devices is accomplished using a simple serial interface compatible with the SPI protocol. This device operates over a broad voltage range. Application includes sensor Interface, process control, data acquisition, battery operated systems.
- Resolution is 12bits typ (VDD = 5V, VSS = 0V, VREF = 5V, TA = -40°C to +85°C)
- Differential nonlinearity is ±0.5LSB typ (no missing codes over-temperature, TA = -40°C to +85°C)
- Integral nonlinearity is 1LSB max (VDD = 5V, VSS = 0V, VREF = 5V, TA = -40°C to +85°C)
- Analog inputs programmable as single-ended or pseudo-differential pairs, on-chip sample and hold
- On-chip sample and hold, SPI serial interface (modes 0,0 and 1,1)
- Operating voltage range from 2.7 to 5.5V (VDD = 5V, VSS = 0V, VREF = 5V, TA = -40°C to +85°C)
- Throughput rate is 100Ksps typ (VDD = VREF = 5V, TA = -40°C to +85°C)
- Offset error is ±1.25LSB typ (VDD = 5V, VSS = 0V, VREF = 5V, TA = -40°C to +85°C)
- Gain error is ±1.25LSB typ (VDD = 5V, VSS = 0V, VREF = 5V, TA = -40°C to +85°C)
- 14 pin SOIC package, industrial operating temperature range from -40 to 85°C
